About Alluthus
Relying heavily on pre-recorded samples with some flair of original recordings, Joseph Madril's instrumental creations under the alias Alluthus proves an interesting venture. Releasing his first album in 2020, Madril has gone on to releasing a variety of tracks exploring various genres—from alternative rock, pop and country. Although most of them may lack in originality, Madril best describes the Alluthus catalog as a "hilarious effort of trying something new."
Releasing the single "Urban Groove" in 2017 and a soundtrack album for a video game that was never released, it wasn't until 2020 when Madril decided to embark on another attempt at instrumental music. Adopting the Alluthus name, he released the EP Golden Days and later his first album Memory Lane. Both releases experimented with indie rock alongside a blend of country and electronic sensibilities. Near the end of that year, he released a second EP, the Undertow EP. In 2021, Alluthus released a variety of singles, which accumulated to his 2022 self-titled album, where he explored dance-pop sounds alongside the alternative rock edge from his first album. Despite being more of a sarcastic release—including the monotonous reading on the album's interlude—the album proved a mild success with radio airplay.
Releasing the HANABI EP in June 2023, Alluthus took a short hiatus from music—though he released the holiday EP The Christmas Collection in December 2024. In March 2025, Alluthus celebrated his fifth anniversary with the release of his first greatest hits album, Greatest "Hits" - Vol. 1.
